Meet the Team
My name is Natalie and I have been in the Veterinary field for about 19 years. I started as a team member who helped anyone in the hospital that needed it and worked my way up, helping in any way possible. For the last 8 years, I have filled the role of Lead Veterinary Technician and came to the decision that I was ready for something more. Now, I am one of the owners of this hospital. My dream has always been to help animals as much as possible, so it is very fulfilling to be in this position. I have lived in Florida my whole life, born in Naples, but raised on the East Coast. I came back to Southwest Florida about 8 years ago and I really love it here. I look forward to meeting and knowing all of you and your furry companions.
Dr. Ivia Alfonso
Hi there, I am Dr. Ivia Alfonso. I graduated in 2006 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechny from the Agrarian University of Havana, Cuba. Shortly after graduation, I worked as a researcher and provided house call Veterinary services. I then moved to Miami, Fl where I worked as a Veterinary Technician for a few years until becoming licensed here in Florida as a DVM in 2015. I am living my dream, taking care of animals at Colonial Animal Hospital. My goal is to help patients stay as healthy as possible or get healthy if they are not feeling well. I love cats and Internal Medicine.
I currently reside in Cape Coral. I love music, reading great novels, and enjoying the sunset from my house.
I look forward to meeting all of you and your furry companions!
Hello, my name is Jessica, and I was born and raised in Southwest Florida. I have a Boxer/Bulldog mix named Autumn, a Beagle named Purdy, and four cats. Their names are Big Kitty, Bomber, Cracker, and Keeks. I also have two children, my son is 12 and my daughter is 6, and I love spending time with all of them. Ever since I was young, I have always loved animals. My whole career has been spent working with them and I have loved every bit of it. Being a groomer for the last 8 years has proven to be a very rewarding job and I’m happy that it’s what I do for a living. I look forward to meeting you and your pets and taking care all of their grooming needs.
Originally I’m from Cincinnati, OH, but have been in Florida for 16 years now. My desire to help animals has lead me to pursue a career as a Veterinarian. I have grown up with animals and was always curious about what they are going through. I research to understand as much as possible and make sure they are taken care of in the best way possible. They give us unconditional love, and I feel they deserve the same. I’m currently working on getting my Bachelors Degree in Biology. Once I have that, I will be able to go to school to become a Veterinarian. In my free time, I enjoy taking my dogs on adventures out to the beach and dog park, and traveling.
Hello, my name is Riley. Ever since I was little, I have had an immense love of all animals. During high school I became a Certified Veterinarian Assistant and I continue to learn more about animals as a Technician. I spend my free time frequenting our local beaches, fishing, kayaking, and spending time with my own two fur babies. I am very excited to be a part of the Colonial Animal Hospital family and I look forward to meeting you and your furry family.

I am currently looking into getting certified to groom cats as well as horses because I enjoy pushing myself to try and learn new things. I plan on going to school to study Veterinary Medicine, specializing in equestrian animals. I am excited to be a part of this team at Colonial Animal Hospital. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member!
Hello, my name is Cathy. I am an LVT born and raised in central Florida but made my way around the harness racing circuit for 10 years before settling in Traverse City Michigan. It was after much prompting from a Dr I worked with that I decided to pursue a career as a Veterinary technician and from there obtained my degree from Baker College and MSU. I have been in veterinary medicine for over 25 years and love it as much today as I did when I started. My husband and I live in Fort Myers and love it here. I love seeing all the fur babies and look forward to meeting yours.
